Let Them Be Little.

As a mom nothing brings me greater joy then these two.

They are 3 and full of so much attitude, joy and love.

Yesterday was a perfect fall day and I couldn’t let it go to waste. I had the night off work and I wanted to do something fun with my babes.

We went up to Mueller Park Canyon for a hike and to collect the beautiful, rich fall leaves.

Hand in hand we walked and talked. We talked about everything in their little lives. Tanner told me all about the elephants and that they sleep in the leaves, and Baylee wanted to just dance in the leaves all day. They are growing so fast, I can’t stand it. I want them to just freeze right here.

I love these moments. There wasn’t one whine, or cry, or fight. They joyfully followed the trail collecting leaves and talking to passerbys.

I love this canyon, it is my home, it is my go-to trail run and I don’t ever get enough of it.

We walked for about 2 miles, until the air became crisp and cool.

To cool for school if I must say.

We headed down the trail and home for hot chocolate!

Yea, we had fun today.

Pajamas till noon, messy hair, baked cookies, fun hike and dinner around the table –>(P.S that is a rare occasion.)

Oh and yes, I am fully aware my daughter can pull off a Miley Cyrus look any day.

No, I did not teach or tell her to do that.. something about the selfie cam makes her think she has to stick her tongue out.. Maybe, I should teach her the kiss face.

Tanner was out of there. He wanted to run his “race.” to the car.

Well, I have brainwashed one running child. All is well with the world.

There are times I want to do nothing but hide in my closest and cry. Being a mom can be the most frustrating thing in the world.

It is however, the most rewarding and amazing thing in the world. These two have my whole heart and even on those days when I have crumbs all over my floor, nail polish on the couch, crayons on the wall, stickers stuck everywhere and anywhere, there is nothing I would change because the hugs, kisses, conversations, singing and laughing make up for it all.

Just let them be little.
