Happy Trolloween

Did I really dress like a troll and workout?

Yes. Yes I did. It was epic. Nude suits are probably the most flattering thing on earth. How I talked these two into it is beyond me, but they both pulled it off like the best friends they are!!

We did the annual Bat Medley workout at GPP

The kids have been dressed up for the past 3 days so this has been their weekly attire.

Tanner is a power ranger and bee is of course a “pink princess Aurora.”

These two have loved dressing up this year. Halloween is now a week long holiday for the next 13 years I’m sure of it.

That’s okay, I LOVE it!

We are off to trick or treat! Hope you all have a wonderful and safe Halloween!

Did you dress up?

What are your kids and or pets for Halloween this year?

Never Give Kids the Bag + Two Workouts

These two make the start of everyday pretty amazing. Every day before we head to school they both always ask for their sunglasses.

I took them to school and headed to GPP for this workout then off to Gold’s to teach Boot camp. I put them through a fun tabata workout.

While everyone was out running I was bored so took a super fantastic selfie for your entertainment.

After the tabata workout, they had some extra time for some AB work, so I put them through a version of this workout at them.

They are a tough group. LOVE this class!

Picked the kids up from preschool and while I was making lunch I just gave them the bag of goldfish (Costco size) to them to snack on.They LOVE goldfish! It is their favorite snack, right next to “Green Berries” also known as grapes..

But one thing is for sure.. Never give the kids an entire bag..

Never do that.

Twins+Goldfish equal DISASTER…

I posted a video of them telling me all about it.

Same thing tends to happen with play-doh.

But Tanner is getting pretty creative with it! Love his little pumpkins!

On my way back to the gym tonight I spotted a rainbow! This picture doesn’t do it justice but it was pretty cool. I still believe in leprechauns. Winking smile

After coaching the night class I created a workout I wanted to test out. It is a quick one but got a good sweat going!

What was your workout today?

What is your favorite snack?

Saying Goodbye and Pumpkin Pie Filling

Yesterday was a bit of a whirlwind in a completely awesome way.

I taught a kick butt body pump first thing in the morning and then the twins, Tara and I headed up to cheer on my friend Kenzie as she tackled 50 miles of a extreme elevation gain and loss in the Ogden Valley 50 miler race that is put on by Striders.

She did amazing! I’m so proud of her. Fifty miles is NO joke and she killed her time from last year. Yes she is that crazy and did this last year too.

Stole this pic from her facebook page.

Nice job Kenzie poo.

Afterward I wanted to get some running in too. I had some friends that headed up to elephant rock and I was fashionably late and had to run my guts out to catch up with them.

There is something just awesome about running through leaves on top of leaves!

The view from the top was just as amazing as always! This is probably my last time up here for the year. I need to rest my foot and the weather is going to get cold and wet fast. So we all said goodbye to our beautiful view for the season.

I probably ran this trail 30 times this year. I love it that much.

You know my sole sister Tara? She is so hard core, she actually hiked the whole trail wearing a BOOT.. 7 miles!

She broke her fibula! And it doesn’t stop her from getting out and doing what she loves.

Amy, Tara, Me, Amy.

Love these girls.

This morning I posted this pic of my breakfast on Instagram and yes, I do realize it looks like poo.

I made an egg and spinach omelet and topped it with Pumpkin Pie filling and sugar free maple syrup!

I could eat that in large amounts, its so delicious!

Healthy Pumpkin Pie filling

  • 1/2 C. Pumpkin Puree
  • 2 tsp or more of Cinnamon—>I’m a huge cinna lover so I use a ton!
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • Liquid Stevia to taste!

Mix together- Done and done!

Don’t knock it till you try it!

Do you love Pumpkin?

Is that even a question?

Have a recipe to share??

Would you run a 50 miler?

Off the Camera Roll

The past two days have been a little cray around here, so I just wanted to pop in so you all know I’m still alive and kickin’ with a  random post that will have more tangents,run-off sentences and terrible grammar then a you will know what to do with.

here we go.

So my breakfast looks delicious. I know.

What kind of food blogger am I?

I love coconut in my oatmeal but I was out of shredded coconut but found some coconut extract and it was fantastic! It tasted like Raspberry Coconut cake. Totally a legit dessert.

Yesterday, the GPP workout kicked my trash. I LOVED it though! It is the workout I usually do when I’m out of town.

You can do it HERE.

400 side ups with 15 pounds was legit. I’m feeling it today for sure!

This was my view for a few hours today.

I LOVE my job.

I saw some zombies walking down the street today. NBD.

One of them is carrying a huge thing of bloody glass. I think I have been watching to much Walking Dead. That freaked me out.

I went to the gym tonight for a little bit of cardio. I just did 10 minutes on the stair climber and 22 minutes of sprints.

When the gym says they close at 9pm. They mean, all lights and power will turn off at 9 pm, so get out.

I set up the twins “big kid” beds. By set up, I mean I hauled two mattresses, and two box springs up two sets of stairs. We still need to get their bed frames set up, but I couldn’t wait. I was so excited for them to just sleep in their big kid beds!

Tanner wasn’t to sure about it yet.. honestly.. I wasn’t either… taking their cribs down means they really aren’t babies anymore…Sad smile

This  happen to anyone else on a daily basis.

That is about as random as it gets around here on a Friday night!!

Hope everyone has a good weekend! I’ll pop in tomorrow!

What are you being for Halloween?

Do you ever have to pee as soon as you get comfortable in bed?

All about Coconut Oil.

Have you heard all the rage about coconut oil lately?

Do you ever wonder if you could benefit from it?

Well, I’m going to tell you all about it!

I use it every single day.

In fact.. I buy a jar of it that is larger then my face…

I buy extra virgin. This one cost about $22 from Costco. It last forever too!

I put coconut oil in my tea, use in place on toast, cook chicken, veggies, and eggs with it and even as a lip gloss sometimes!

Coconut oil is considered a fat. It is made up of about 64% medium chain triglycerides- AKA MCT’s. In comparison to other fats, which are long chain triglycerides (LCT). MCT’s are absorbed into the intestines instead of the the typical lymphatic system. Therefore they are more easily and quickly digested.

There is some research that has shown that they are not stored as fat deposits but are used quickly for energy in the liver. They pass into the mitochondria of cells without carnitine, which means they may be quickly used by the body for energy!

Finally, when less then 30% of your daily calories come from MCT’s, they have a thermogenic effect of up to 10-15% higher than the calories contained in them! Now, who doesn’t want that.

So pretty much your body will be burning more than you’re consuming. Neat.

In review coconut oil can actually increase your metablolism, help your skin, keep you regular, and so much more..

Coconut oil can be used for more then just fuel, Here are a 101 ways to use it!

I also am in love with this!

With all of that said and done. Coconut oil also has saturated fat, so before you eat it by the spoonful watch that.

Do you use Coconut oil?

That Left A Mark

Happy Tuesday!

My workout today included one of my favorite movements.

JERKS! I love olympic lifts! I know I’m going to be sore tomorrow because of it too!

My one rep max for the Jerk is #135 and today I did it times 3! It most definitely left a mark on my clavicle though. Any Bruise is worth that PR!

I came home and made a quick breakfast!

I had an Ezekiel muffin—>LOVE. Along side 1 cup of egg whites, spinach, olive oil and asparagus.

We took bee to dance after preschool and while bee was dancing this little guy was all over the place.

He is such a goof and I love it. I let him play with my phone and this is what I find.

Tanner face times 231.

I taught a kids class this afternoon, and the night class at GPP.

Tomorrow we have a familly shower for my baby sis! She is due in two weeks! I can’t wait! She is having a boy and it will be T &B’s first cousin on my side of the family!!

How perfect is this maternity shot? I’m in love.

Also, I’m in love with these fine folk.

Out of over 100 pictures.. we got at least one with two smiling, non-blur kids.

And, you can’t even see the blood on my shirt from Tanners bloody nose..

I can’t wait to see the rest!

What did you have for breakfast today?

Maternity pics.. yea? or nah?

What’s Coming Next.

First the big news of the day, A new GPP fitness opened up in Clearfield, Utah. So if there are any readers over yonder, I think it is in your best interest you give your fitness a try there.

I had one of those days that when you sit down at the computer to blog you realize you hardly took any pictures today.

I coached, did half of this workout, taught a boot camp class, grocery shopped, kids dance class, laundry, then taught body attack, back to GPP to coach the night class and hung around for a meeting after for the OHC challenge.

Here is the awesome ONE picture I took today.

I had Golds make me a shake on my way out the door from Body Attack, I had brought a baggie with some protein powder, spinach, chia seeds and frozen strawberries from my house for me to inhale on the the way to coach GPP.

It made more then what would fit in one cup, so the cool chick gave me another cup full.

Sweet! Two pics! I’m getting really good at the blog thing.

Now that Red Rock is over I don’t have any races coming up! Something is wrong with that…

I still have plantar fasciitis and have been taking my runs pretty short and easy lately. I’ll give it a few weeks before I start really running on it and think some fun holiday runs might be fun!

If my foot heals quick I really want to run the Provo Halloween Half! I know this girl is in! What could be more fun then running a half in costume anyway?

I also want to do the SANTA RUN. Brent and I did it a few years ago and had so much fun! Our dog even ran it then, (not sure if they still allow that.) Also, they have milk and cookies at the aid station with Hot chocolate, donuts and a Santa at the end.

Do you enjoy Holiday Runs?

What do you enjoy about the gym you go too?

Not Lulu Lemon.

First Off, I want to say Congrats to all my readers, and other bloggers who participated  in the Runners World Series and the Nike San Fran Half and earned their Tiffany’s Necklace!

This morning I started off with a run. Sunday Rundays are quickly becoming my favorite day of the week. I sleep in a little, then wake up and do whatever. I’m not expected to be anywhere at a certain time and it’s fantastic.

I’m still loving my Mizuno Waveriders but I think I might be missing my brooks.. I lost two toenails after the huntsville marathon. Last year, I wore my Brooks for Big Cottonwood and didn’t lose any. I think the Brooks have a wider toe box so I have a little extra room compared to the Mizunos.

Side note: (I always buy my running shoes a half size bigger.)

It was chilly this morning but I was prepared.

This is my “I’m really going to run in the cold” face.

I wore my lulu head banger, swiftly tee and big shocker..

My pants are not lulu!

I needed some thicker leggings for RRR and just flew into TJMaxx and found these! They are by HIND. They are perfect for chilly outdoor running. I loved them!

After my run, church, then lunch. We got our family pictures taken… If there is one thing I dread it is family pictures. For some reason, as soon as we try to do something important, chaos breaks.

Five minutes into today’s pictures resulted in Tanner getting bloody nose, which resulted with blood on my shirt and smashed blueberries all over Baylees face and hands. Buuuuut, in the end I think we got some good ones! Our photographer is pretty amazing. I can’t wait to see them!

My sister’s birthday was on Monday, but we celebrated with the fam today!

I know you want a close up on that cake!

Triple Layer Red Velvet. My step-mom can whip up a pretty amazing dessert on a whim.

Happy Birthday Sis! Love ya!

What is your favorite running shoe and why?

What is your favorite dessert?

Let Them Be Little.

As a mom nothing brings me greater joy then these two.

They are 3 and full of so much attitude, joy and love.

Yesterday was a perfect fall day and I couldn’t let it go to waste. I had the night off work and I wanted to do something fun with my babes.

We went up to Mueller Park Canyon for a hike and to collect the beautiful, rich fall leaves.

Hand in hand we walked and talked. We talked about everything in their little lives. Tanner told me all about the elephants and that they sleep in the leaves, and Baylee wanted to just dance in the leaves all day. They are growing so fast, I can’t stand it. I want them to just freeze right here.

I love these moments. There wasn’t one whine, or cry, or fight. They joyfully followed the trail collecting leaves and talking to passerbys.

I love this canyon, it is my home, it is my go-to trail run and I don’t ever get enough of it.

We walked for about 2 miles, until the air became crisp and cool.

To cool for school if I must say.

We headed down the trail and home for hot chocolate!

Yea, we had fun today.

Pajamas till noon, messy hair, baked cookies, fun hike and dinner around the table ->(P.S that is a rare occasion.)

Oh and yes, I am fully aware my daughter can pull off a Miley Cyrus look any day.

No, I did not teach or tell her to do that.. something about the selfie cam makes her think she has to stick her tongue out.. Maybe, I should teach her the kiss face.

Tanner was out of there. He wanted to run his “race.” to the car.

Well, I have brainwashed one running child. All is well with the world.

There are times I want to do nothing but hide in my closest and cry. Being a mom can be the most frustrating thing in the world.

It is however, the most rewarding and amazing thing in the world. These two have my whole heart and even on those days when I have crumbs all over my floor, nail polish on the couch, crayons on the wall, stickers stuck everywhere and anywhere, there is nothing I would change because the hugs, kisses, conversations, singing and laughing make up for it all.

Just let them be little.
