Hoppy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! I hope you guys all have a fun filled day today like we do!

I wanted to drop in quick today and give you something to sweat too before we hit the festivities.

Hoppy Halloween will take you all but 22 minutes. Get after it today, it is a fun one!

hoppy

Here are a few of the demo movements.

For Halloween this year, I told my kids all about the Halloween Goblin.

halloweengoblin

If they put there candy out on the front porch the Halloween Goblin comes and takes it and replaces it with a prize!

It helps lower their candy consumption and saves me the battle of trying to talk them out of NOT eating all their candy in one sitting .Winking smile

Maybe if anyone else has that same issue you can adopt the Halloween Goblin too!

Have a great day!

What is your favorite Halloween Candy?

Tangent Thursday?

I am so happy today is Thursday for two reasons:

1.Brent comes home from a 4 day business trip. I am sure he is excited to have his 12AM,3AM and 6AM alarm back. Winking smile

2. Tomorrow is Halloween!! It really is one of my favorite holidays! It came a little tooo fast this year and I don’t have a costume.. I know, I’m a slacker.

Here is a flash back from last year for ya!

IMG_8588

Yesterday I went to target for one reason.

IMG_7651[1]

And yes, they are that good and yes, I did leave target with way more than I had intended.. Who doesn’t?

We also made it out on a walk around the park yesterday. This may be my favorite part of the day.

The twins had #2 of 3 Halloween parties yesterday at preschool. The dead cheerleader loves to hold her baby bro. Wait… are you surprised she wasn’t Queen Elsa? Yea, me too! Bee actually wanted to be a dead cheerleader?

It was a a fun filled day yesterday, so fun it required a diet coke (caffeine free) and a sugar cookie

IMG_7690[1]

This song came on during my walk today and I cant wait to add it to my running playlist!

IMG_7688[1]

Lastly, fall is here (even if it was 75 degrees today) which means it’s time to eat soup!

IMG_7260[1]

I love soup, This being one of my favorites from my grandma. I need to share the recipe with you all. Yes?

What is your favorite soup?

Are you dressing up this year? What are you going to be?

Mizuno Wave Rider 18 Review + A Workout

The following Mizuno Wave Rider 18 review is sponsored by Mizuno Running on behalf of FitFluential, LLC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I have always been a Mizuno fan. When you find a shoe that works for you, stick with it.

I’m a huge fan of two different kinds of Mizunos. The Sayonaras and the Waveriders! I use the wave riders for all my long runs and of course marathons.

When I received the Mizuno Wave Rider 18, I immediately put them on and went for a walk to break them in a bit. It is a neutral shoe and the 18’s got it right. There is just enough cushion for the pushin’. I always buy my running shoe a half size bigger since most races have a bit of downhill and it provides a more comfortable fit.

At first look I fell in love with the design and color! I love the ombre with white/black/florida keys

IMG_7553[1]

These have a perfect amount of cushion while still being light weight thanks to the UFic midosle. Which makes these a great daily running shoe. Every Mizuno pair of shoes usually last me about 250-300 miles before they start to wear. The 18’s are made with such high quality. I’m excited to run with them throughout the winter.

They feature a 12 mm heel to toe drop which makes every run comfortable whether you are running downhill, flat or up hill. If you run with a heel strike these will help you improve your form. The shoe features a 12mm heel-to-toe drop and for women, weigh 7.8 ounces. The Wave Rider 18 has U4ic (pronounced “euphoric”) midsole - meaning that you can get more cushioning at less weight, which is a huge bonus.

The other day at the park with the kids I decided to throw a quick workout together to see how they would do with a little cross training as well.

It was quick and you can even build up a little sweat with the kids. I did step ups, and bench dips on the stairs and chin ups on the monkey bars!

Official details:

These would be a great shoe for a whole range of runners. It provides a stable ride from landing to toe-off. It has a wave plate that absorbs a lot of shock that your feet take when running. Most importantly it is a light weight shoe that provides just the perfect amount of support!

I always recommend trying on a running shoe before purchasing. Head into your nearest running store and give these a try!

Happy Monday! Errr… Tuesday… Believe me when I say I actually started this blog yesterday..

I obviously didn’t get too far did I?

I hope you all had a great day yesterday..

IMG_7600[1]

This guy kept me up all night on Sunday night, so the rest of the day was me just trying to catch a nap. I am sure that he knows the precise moment after I put him down after nursing that I actually lay down and get comfortable..

I never did get a nap, but I got the kids bathed, dressed and to preschool, grocery shopping, laundry somewhat started, dishes and I put on real clothes and did my makeup.

It’s the little things right? I may or may not of broke down crying to one of my friends and my dad. It was just a crazy day.

Brent is gone on a business trip till Thursday. Being a single momma is hard work.. I miss him.. but I made it through yesterday so it can only get better from here.

These two kept me smiling though. I am one lucky momma.

IMG_7609[1]

Last night Roen slept MUCH better!! 9-12:40 then went back down around 2 and didn’t wake up till 7:15! I feel like a new person.

Over the weekend I got to try out my Boba at the pumpkin patch. Yes, this was our second trip to the patch because our kids needed a extra pumpkin for preschool.

IMG_7558[1]

Saturday night Brent and Tanner went to the Utah football game (WHAT A WIN!) and Baylee, Roen and I went to a trunk or treat with my dad and an ape (my brother ,Parker). The girl holding Bee is my cousin and they are pretty inseparable when they are together.

IMG_7589[1]

Baylee got loaded up on the goods and we had a great time!

We also did a little bike shopping! I am planning a few big bike races next year and had fun test driving a few specialized bikes. I can’t wait to get back in the saddle!

The weather around here finally is starting to feel cooler. Some people may start to head inside for their workout. Here is a fun flash back Treadmill Circuit for you to do!

Quick Friday Thoughts

We had an early morning today.

Thanks to these boys.

IMG_7520[1]

It was a perfect fall day for a walk.

IMG_7530[1]

When there are days like this.

You take full advantage.

IMG_7434[1]

Dance is a huge part of this little girls life and she can’t get enough.

IMG_7512[1]

I ordered this boba wrap to help carry Roen around.

IMG_7537[1]

Going to and from places during the week just got a little easier. It is so soft and comfy. I’m actually currently wearing it without Roen.. Ill do a full review a bit later. I have never used a wrap before so when I went shopping (online) I took a few things into consideration.

Price. Comfort. Safety.

I read a lot of reviews on amazon and ordered the Boba.

We also had a few Doctor appointments today that we all actually lived through. The twins had there flu mist and they did great! Then Roe had his heel pricked.. (saddest thing ever)

This little guy is TWO weeks old today!

Now, its time for the weekend!

What are your plans for the weekend?

Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake

Lets take a baby break for a minute and I’ll share something just as sweet.

pumpkin

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 C. Silk Vanilla Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • 1/2 C. Libby’s  Pumpkin Puree
  • 1 Banana
  • 1 scoop Plant Fusion Vanilla Bean Protein Powder
  • 1Tbs. Agave Nectar
  • 1 tsp. Pumpkin Spice
  • 2 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
  • 5-7 Ice Cubes

Directions:

Combine and Blend together.

Enjoy!

This is a perfect mid day treat that even my kids want to have.

This fall has been a little unusual for Utah. We have actually had warmer weather then normal. I’m not complaining one bit because it means I can still get outside in the afternoon with the kids. We all have a case of stir crazy on our hands so heading outside a few times a day helps.

Laying underneath a tree and just staring at the sky was one of my favorite moments today. I’ve never really been much into meditation or anything but this quiet moment brought a bit of peace into my mind today.

Everyone has so much to do, take some time, whip up a pumpkin spice shake and go stare at the sky. It definitely has some health benefits.

Question of the day:

What do you do to unwind/relax?

Do you love all things Pumpkin? What is your favorite?

Roens Birth Story

IMG_7158[1]

This birth story is a little different than most because I went with a scheduled C-section. If you have ever had a scheduled birth rather you were induced or had a c-section than you know that it takes the guessing game of labor out of the equation.

On Wednesday night I was not feeling very well, I had a sore throat and a fever.. not to mention a fancy rash on my neck that itched and hurt. I was supposed to work Thursday morning but ended up calling in sick and pregnant. I wanted to make sure to get extra rest since I was scheduled to have our baby the next morning.

Thursday, I did everything in my power to get better. I drank plenty of fluids, had soup, used essential oils and took an antibiotic that was prescribed by my doctor. I went to bed that night feeling a little better but not 100% I had my husband give me a blessing to help me feel at peace with delivering our baby boy/girl (we didn’t know!) the next morning.  I was just as anxious and excited for the delivery. I have had a c-section with the twins so I knew what to expect but was still nervous about the whole thing. Being cut open is a little nerve racking, I suppose.

Friday morning came and our alarms went off at 5:00 AM. We were supposed to be at the hospital at 6 AM to get all prepped and ready to go.

IMG_7064[1]

We checked in and the nurses took me into a delivery room.

I changed into my gown, had an IV placed in my arm to where they started giving me fluids. They strapped on a monitor to monitor the babies heart rate and contractions. (I wasn’t having contractions but they do it anyway.)

IMG_7066[1]

My doctor came in to check on me, making sure everything was still a go. I told him I still wasn’t feeling good but better then the last two days. He assured me baby would be fine and I actually would be given antibiotics during the c-section.

The anesthesiologist also came in to introduce himself. He was cool guy who made me feel at ease with the spinal epidural. I also had a friend of mine that was an NICU nurse that I wanted with me and she showed up shortly after.

After I had received a bag and a half of fluid I was able to walk into the surgery room. I was given my epidural. Which felt like a big bee sting and I may of flinched a bit. I laid down and shortly after my legs started to feel warm. Which felt great, cause laying there with no pants on in a cold surgery warm is just grand. Winking smile

20141010_064921

{Right before I left to go into the surgery room.}

My Doctor introduced another doctor to me who was going to assist in the cesarean. Both of them were very friendly and actually chatted about several things. Family members, football , my pregnancy etc. which helped ease my anxiety a bit. I was able to watch the procedure in the light. Weirdly, I am okay with watching me be cut open.. It is interesting to me and the doctors described to me what they were doing and walked me through it. I couldn’t see clearly but could see things happening. Both doctors said everything looked great and I had healed great from my last cesarean. ->That is always something you want to hear if you want to have more children in the future.

When they got to my uterus, my doctor had us take our final guesses on what the sex of the baby was. He told Brent to make the big announcement since I couldn’t see with the drape. I could see in the light but not a ton of detail.

Brent and I both said BOY!

When my doctor pulled the babe out, Brent announced it sure enough was a BOY!

IMG_7071[1]

My friend nurse then took him and got him all taken care of and wrapped up. Brent was next to him the whole time while I was being stitched back up.

IMG_7075[1]

20141010_080733

20141010_081046

He weighed 7 lbs. 5.6 ounces and was 20.75 inches long.

Brent brought him over to me so I could see him and kiss him. Then the second I was sat back up I was able to hold him and do skin to skin.

IMG_7078[1]

IMG_7103[1]

He is perfect. I feel so blessed and grateful for such a great pregnancy and delivery.

IMG_7191[1]

Baby feet may be my favorite.

I did however experience a bit of nausea afterward. I had nausea the first time but it lasted a little longer than the last time. I was given anti nausea right away, which helped ease it a bit.

Having our family together was surreal. Tanner and Baylee were so excited to meet their little brother!

IMG_7117[1]

IMG_7167[1]

Roen was born October 10, 2014 he has been a dream baby.

I am grateful for the opportunity to be his mother and watch him grow. He is our miracle baby and we couldn’t be happier.

Week One with A Newborn

IMG_7261[1]

IMG_7404[1]

IMG_7199[1]

This past week has been a perfect blur. We are all smitten by Roen.

This week I have had a lot of help from friends and family. I couldn’t be more grateful for all the meals from neighbors and friends and my family members that have taken Tanner and Baylee out of the house to do fun stuff, take them to dance and gymnastics, preschool and everything in between while I am recovering.

I have made it out for a short walk almost every day, and the last two days we took the kids to the pumpkin patch and a short hike to collect leaves.

I’m still trying to adjust to the newborn life but I think we are doing pretty good. Roen is such a happy laid back babe and we are all in love with him.

I am working on Roens birth story and will share it next week.

Thank you for all the support and sweet comments you have all contributed rather it be on the blog, facebook, twitter or instagram. I have read every one and they mean the world to me.

Thank you.
