Easy Protein Pancakes

Happy Friday!! ---> This post was meant to go up yesterday but my Internet wasn’t working- sorry y’all.

This week went by quick! Got to love those holiday weekends that make the weekend come that much quicker!

I had my boot camp tackle this rough workout earlier this week. It is a 45 minute circuit that will make you DRIP sweat. I figure it is a great way for you to go into your weekend.

Here are a few demos of the movements included in this workout that you may need:

 “Roll-Out” aka Monster Complex @GPPfitness

Burpee Hop Over

V-ups

I love my Friday mornings because its my day off, and I get to wake up and relax before tackling a to-do list that usually compiles because of my professional procrastination skills throughout the week.

I love to have Protein Pancakes first thing! They tend to satisfy baby and I, and guarantee a productive morning!

Easy Protein Pancakes

Serves 1

Ingredients:
1/2 cup quick oats
1/2 cup Dairy 2% cottage cheese
3 egg whites
1-2 Tbs. Elite fusion protein powder (vanilla)- You can use any brand.
Nonstick coconut oil spray (Trader Joes)
Fresh raspberries, optional
2 teaspoons agave, optional

Directions:
Combine quick oats, cottage cheese, egg whites, and protein powder in a blender. Mix well until it resembles traditional pancake batter.

Heat a large pan over low heat, and spray with nonstick spray. Pour  batter onto the pan. Let it cook for about 3 minutes or so until the sides easily lift. Flip pancake and cook for an additional two minutes.

Serve with fresh fruit, agave, or the topping of your choice- Whateve! The possibilities are endless.

Enjoy!

Also, I had my 20 week appointment today- (I’m actually 21 weeks now!)

Everything looked fabulous! I couldn’t be more grateful. I am always nervous for this appointment, because they go every thing, heart chambers, brain, skeletal structure, fingers, toes, stomach etc.

We are blessed to have one healthy happy babe!

Say Hi!

I melt.

We are not finding out if it is a boy or girl.. It was so hard to not look! But we are excited for the surprise!

So take your guess!

I still say Boy!

Have a good weekend!

Being a Mom is Hard.

Not sure about everyone else, but I have some pretty demanding 3 year olds.

For example:

Tanner: "Spray me with the hose!"

Mom- "Yes.. I'd love too."

Baylee- "Let me spray the hose!"

Mom: "Go for it."

Both- "I want to drive!"

Mom: "How many times can you go around?"

Then, today it wasn't so bad. 😜

We went to the splash pad!

We will be spending the majority of the summer here.
My kids love the splash pad and so do I!
This is just too fun!

Why I love the splash pad..

Reason #1- I don't have to worry about a kid drowning.

Reason #2-

They always nap after.

When they woke up we went to the park to watch their cousins t ball game down the street from our house.

Bee rode her bike and I pushed tanner in the stroller. Then they switched, and switched back. Probably 8262 times.

Ha! Either way it's summer around here and we couldn't be happier.

What are you looking forward too this summer?

That one time our grill almost blew up.

Our drive home from Bear Lake was quick and smooth, mostly because the twins slept the entire way!
When we got home we started on a project we have been talking about for the last year!

We have had tile sitting in our garage since we moved in because the previous owners left it behind.
We headed to Lowes and got a few other supplies and picked out new carpet and counter tops! Lots of renovations coming our way! We stopped by 7-11 for a mandatory slurpee.

and when we got home Brent ripped out all the lineoleum out of the bathroom.

We took a break and threw together a quick BBQ.

As I was cutting the watermelon, I smelled smoke & when I looked outside our grill was in flames!
I might of panicked and screamed for Brent.. He quickly got it out and our food survived the fire.. Along with our house.

It was pretty scary and now I have a fear of the grill. We still are not sure how it started but we are just happy the flames didn't quite teach the propane tank!

This morning I headed to GPP to get the workout done for the day!
I like this workout because it is hard but over in a flash! I spent some time on the bike afterwards to cool down before heading home.

I made a quick shake with plant fusion chocolate, unsweetened vanilla almond milk (silk),  berries, and peanut butter!

It hit the spot!

Now it is time to head to work! I have a killer bootcamp workout  for my class planned for this morning!

Catch ya later!

Happy Memorial Day 2014

Thank you to those that served and continue to serve our country.

This weekend we came up to Bear Lake with Brent's dad and his wife.
We spent most the time hanging out on four wheelers, biking and of course BBQing.

This morning we had a quick breakfast of some chocolate protein oats before heading out to workout with some friends.

We met up with some friends from GPP, that are also in Bear Lake this weekend to tackle the GPP Memorial workout.

HIT THE DECK!

We had a blast and came to the conclusion that m&ms, popcorn and s'mores, along with late night games are just great for any pre workout. 😋

After the workout we had a few games of  some volleyball.

I deemed myself the professional photographer..
The kids all had a blast playing on the tramp

It is a beautiful day here in Bear Lake. We are sad to have to pack up and head back. We were hoping for a day on the beach but we had a boat issue. So, we are packing up and heading back in hopes to get some yard work done and bring flowers to our loved ones graves.

Hope you all have a fabulous day!

If I could live anywhere..

Our last two days in California we spent the entire time at the Beach! Sun-up to Sunset!

We are a beach family. My kids could play in the sand forever, I’m sure of it.

IMG_2612[1]

They were a little timid about the water but warmed up quickly and had fun being chased by the waves rolling in.

We made multiple sand turtles and “castles.”

We took a break from the sand and rented this fun little peddle bike.

The kids sat up front and Brent and I peddled it. We were laughing so hard because we thought these would be a little faster then what they were. We both would peddle as fast as we could and walkers were still passing us! Nevertheless, we had a blast going up and down the beach.

There was a big surf competition while we were there so we spent awhile just watching and cheering them on.

A trip to Huntington pier is not complete without a meal and shake at RUBY’s at the end of the pier.

I got the Veggie Burger with a side salad. It was amazing! We also got a strawberry and cookies and cream shake to share! Although, the twins claimed those pretty quick.

IMG_2626[1]

A server came around and made balloon hats and animals for the kids! They loved them!

IMG_2629[1]

The shakes are a must at Ruby’s. They even bring them out before your meal so you know your meal will always be off to a good start.

The view from the pier is one of my favorites.

Nothing of course beats a beach sunset from Newport Beach.

It was a great way to wrap up our vacation. If I could live anywhere it would be in a beach front home of Newport beach. I could get used to the sunset every night.

We love Cali.

If you could live anywhere, where would you choose?

Tangent Tuesday

Happy Tuesday!
Our internet is not working at my house? It's been glitchy lately and decided to go down just as I started a post. Naturally.

So I'm posting from my phone tonight.

I'm going to take a break from our trip to go over some daily ramblings.

Whenever you come home from vacation do you feel like you almost need a vacation from your vacation? Ha! We jumped right into a busy week!

Although, it feels good to be back to routine, part of me misses the beach, having no plans and just taking the day as it came.

We went for a walk to see all the chalk art that was done on Main Street, close to our home while we were gone.

They were all amazing!

It fun walking around with my family admiring all the amazing talent.
My pregnant sister came along, so we had to baby bump.

Monday came quick and it was back to the grind.

One thing is for sure though. It feels great to be back at GPP. There is something about that place that makes me feel right at home. The atmosphere, the people, all the sweat and chalk that comes with it.

My workout yesterday was:

2 rounds:

400 m run
25 kb swings
500 m row
25 kb swings
300 jump ropes
25 kb swings

I was able to get through the whole thing without any modifications in 18:43.

My favorite snack lately is frozen berries (heated up for a little bit.) mixed with cottage cheese.

So good!

Bee had her last dance class today. We received their class pictures and I can't get over how old she looks in this picture!

(Sorry, pic of pic in plastic)

Seriously, love this girl.

Both of them really.

Especially during nap time.

I taught a boot camp class and got in today's GPP workout which consisted of squats, chin ups, bent rows and Aussie pull ups.

Jell-O arms!!!

We spent the rest of tonight hanging out at my dads house with their new pet.

Meet Scott. The bunny..

The kids loved him! SHE is a good little bun.

Now Brent and I are going to end the night catching up on 24.

Brent and I used to be completely addicted to the show and watched every season back to back on netflix. So when the new season started we got a little excited!

How was that for a tangent Tuesday?

What kind of pet/pets did you have growing up?

--I had a poodle, horse, chickens and pigs, and even 2 ducks.. I kinda lived on a farm.

What is your go to snack lately?
